Cookies Policy

1. Introduction

This policy explains how AgeVerif.com, a Service owned and operated by PlanetSeason, uses cookies and other similar tracking technologies, both on its own websites and subdomains, as well as within its age verification Service integrated on third-party websites (Clients/Webmasters).
It should be read together with our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and secure personal data, our Terms of Use and Webmasters Terms of Use.
PlanetSeason acts as the data controller for processing carried out via AgeVerif.
The cookies used by AgeVerif are not intended to directly store information such as your name or email address. However, some third-party cookies, particularly those used for advertising or statistical purposes, may process personal data or online identifiers in accordance with their own privacy policies.
By continuing to use the Service after our cookie consent banner appears, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Cookies Policy. For cookies requiring your consent, your preferences will be saved and applied through our consent management platform, Cookiebot, as described in Section 4 of this Policy.

2. What is a cookie?

A cookie is a small text file sent by a website to the browser and stored on your device, whether it is a computer, tablet, smartphone or any other device used to view the website.
Cookies can be set either directly by the website you are visiting (called "first-party cookies"), or by third-party Services operating on that website (called "third-party cookies").
There are several types of cookies. Session cookies are automatically deleted when you close your browser, while persistent cookies remain on your device for a set period or until you manually delete them.
Similar tracking technologies, such as web beacons, pixels, and local storage objects, may be used in addition to cookies. In this Policy, the term “cookies” encompasses all such similar technologies, unless otherwise specified.
The information collected and stored in cookies does not allow us to identify with you personally and does not contain any personal data that you provide to us.

3. Cookie categories and required consent

Several types of cookies could be used by the Service:

  • Necessary cookies: Necessary cookies are essential for the proper functioning of the website and the Service. They are automatically activated when you visit and are crucial for maintaining the Service's functionality. They cannot be disabled through our standard consent mechanism, but only via your browser settings. Disabling these necessary cookies may prevent certain essential features of the Service from working correctly.
  • Preferences cookies: Preference cookies allow a website to remember information that changes how the site behaves or appears, such as your preferred language or the region where you are located.
  • Statistic cookies: Statistic cookies allow us to measure the use of the Service, to compile anonymous or aggregated statistics and to improve the performance of the site.
  • Marketing cookies: Marketing cookies may be used by our advertising partners to display ads tailored to your interests. Advertising cookies involve more advanced data processing, which may include the creation of behavioral profiles based on your interests. The activation of these technologies is strictly conditional upon obtaining your explicit, freely given, and informed consent. You can withdraw your consent at any time via our cookie management center. Refusing advertising cookies will not affect or prevent your use of the Service's features.

4. Managing cookie consent

The Consent Management Platform (CMP) used by the Service is Cookiebot, operated by Usercentrics A/S (Address: Havnegade 39, 1058 Copenhagen, Denmark). Cookiebot is a Google-certified solution responsible for displaying the requisite cookie consent banner within the Service and managing the accurate recording, storage, and administration of your consent preferences in compliance with relevant regulations.
Cookiebot allows you to:

  • View the categories of cookies used on the Service and the specific cookies within each category;
  • Accept all cookies, reject all non-essential cookies, or configure your preferences category by category;
  • Withdraw or change your consent preferences at any time by accessing the cookie management center.

Cookiebot automatically installs certain cookies on your device to remember your consent preferences and ensure the consent banner appears or disappears correctly on subsequent visits. These cookies are strictly necessary for the consent management functionality to work and do not require separate consent from you. For more information about Cookiebot and how your data is processed, visit https://www.cookiebot.com.

5.2 Marketing cookies

When you reuse proof of age previously obtained through your AgeVerif account, an ad may appear on the confirmation page before you are redirected to the website you are visiting. This ad never prevents you from accessing the Service or continuing to browse. If you have accepted marketing cookies, this ad may be personalized based on your preferences or interests. If you have not given your consent, a non-personalized ad will be displayed.
These ads are managed through third-party advertising tools, including Google AdSense.
Using these tools requires the placement of cookies that allow the collection of data related to your browsing activity (for example, to display relevant advertisements or measure audience reach).
Please note that Google AdSense manages numerous cookies, which may change over time based on technical updates and marketing objectives defined by Google. For comprehensive and up-to-date information on all types of cookies used, their purpose, and the partners involved in this advertising framework, please consult the official documentation provided by Google: https://business.safety.google/adscookies.
